Huge Savings! Rotolight 2 Aeos Bundle Kit (50% Off)

If you haven’t heard, Rotolight is having a HUGE savings on their 2 Aeos Light Bundle Kit. Below, Jason Lanier (@jasonlanierphotography) and Emily Rinaldo (@em.explores) have provided a demonstration video below to show you what you can do with this extremely versatile kit. In an abandoned farmhouse in Jacumba, California Jason used two Aeoses to light Emily. One light was a key light, the other was placed on the ground, held upright by the battery pack (that’s included in the kit) to illuminate the hay and accent the bottom half of the scene. The lights used were unmodified in LED mode during the day. They created extremely soft, stunning, and timeless portraits.

For more information about this and other bundles offered by Rotolight and Jason Lanier please visit: www.rotolight.com/jasonoffers To take advantage of the particular gear used in this video as part of the bundle please visit: https://www.rotolight.com/product/aeo... Promo Code: JLAEOS-02

Wrap-up: In this video, Jason uses two Rotolight Aeoses in LED mode. One light used as a key light and the other used as accent lighting from down below. This is also one of the first shoots ever where Jason uses the Sony A99ii, Sony's premier DSLT camera.

Lenses used for the shoot include the Sony Zeiss 24mm f/2, the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and the Sony Zeiss 85mm f/1.4.

Teaching how to shoot in manual at a Jason Lanier Meet Up

This is a production still of me teaching one of the attendees how to shoot in manual at my meet up in Oceanside, CA yesterday.  We literally had seasoned pros all the way to beginners and if you ask anyone there, everyone had a great time.  Who says pros and newcomers can't co-exist?  Next Meet Up is next Wednesday in Los Angeles for a model shoot! To see more images from the meet up or to register for a meet up or workshop, simply click on the website link below!

Flowergirl by Jason Lanier

This image was taken yesterday at my wedding for Delano and April before the wedding.  Our bride was getting her make up done, and I was setting up the room I captured this shot of the little flowergirl resting her head as she waited. This was shot with natural light coming in from the window and is completely unposed.  Hope you like it!

Next Workshop: Las Vegas, Nevada- right after WPPI

Camera settings: Nikon D700, 1/100 sec at f/2.2, 85mm at ISO 2500, flash did not fire.  Taken at 5:05pm on February 15, 2013 by Jason Lanier in Los Angeles, Calfornia.

Wedding Ring Shots Before and After

This is a before and after of the wedding ring shot that I did at my wedding earlier this month in Los Angeles, California. It's really fun to see how different it looks in the camera versus how it was shot.  Hope you like it!

What is Adobe Bridge?

Adobe Bridge is a very cool tool to use that is offered by Adobe and comes as part of a package when you buy Photoshop.  I currently use the version CS6.  Bridge is the best way for photographers to effectively move images around, rename them, and categorize them in volume.  That's the whole basis of Bridge, batch processing.  In the old days you'd use Bridge to run batch editing for you through Photoshop.  You can still do that I assume but it's really a waste of time as you should be using Lightroom for batch editing.

Adobe refers to Bridge as Digital Asset Management Software.  I mainly use Bridge for renaming my images, moving folders around, etc. at this point in time.  It's invaluable to me in that regard and I really love the program...when it isn't crashing.  Hope this helps!

Los Angeles Wilderness Bridal Shoot- shooting tutorials

I already shared the first picture from our shoot in an earlier blog post but these shots below are some more from our shoot on the couch. From a photographic standpoint I love putting a rectangular couch that has straight lines in it in front of a huge wilderness backdrop that has everything but straight lines. Then when you throw a bride on top of the couch and completely change the lines by the positioning her in all different ways it can complete the shot to give you something you'll love.

We actually shot video of this session and I've had a lot of people asking me to start putting out tutorials in the hopes it could help them. I've been shooting video on all of my shoots recently to start developing a library that we can turn into shooting tutorials and guides in the hope they can help others. I'll be shooting video while doing the shoots I have in Spain for this same reason. I hope you enjoy!
