This image was taken at my wedding for Cory and Melissa at The Hacienda in Orange County, CA.  Melissa, my beautiful bride in this image walked down the steps from the bridal room towards the ceremony and I grabbed a shot of her as she was walking down....just beautiful...

Bridals at her wedding shot TODAY!

www.jasonlanier.com

This is a bridal shot taken today at the wedding for Mitch and Cassandra, and I'm still at the wedding!  This image was taken inside the Bridal Suite at the Christmas House Inn and Gardens which is beautiful.  This is why you need a full frame camera with a wide angle lens for wedding photography.  It literally opens up the world for you!  Congrats to Mitch and Cassandra!!

Camera settings: Nikon D800, 1/100 sec at f/4.0, 16mm at ISO 2000, flash fired.  Taken at 5:45pm on April 26, 2013 by Jason Lanier.

Workshops that matter, teaching art at a photo workshop

This image was taken at my workshop in Tampa, Florida at the Don Vicente Inn in St. Ybor.  It is a beautiful place and we had the awesome opportunity to shoot in it completely uninterrupted.  For this shot our beautiful model Constance was standing on a table, we used my monopod attached to a video light to light her from up top.

One of the things that I value the most at my workshops is teaching people real shooting scenarios, not made up ones that are nothing like what I'd do on a real shoot.  There are so many times I've attended workshops where they pull the model out into the hallway and 100 photographers try to get a shot....that's pretty worthless in my opinion.  So try one of my workshops, you'll see and experience the difference!

Paris, Strike a Pose while lying down

This image was taken during one of my favorite shoots ever with Ashley Rau in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.  It was such a cold night when we did this shoot, so getting this shot was hard because we were both lying on the cold stone for this set of shots.  But with the Eiffel Tower glowing, the clouds reflecting light, and my video lights hitting the bride, it just made for a great shoot!  Hope you like it!

Painting of a Bride by Jason Lanier

This is an image taken of my bride Alvina during our couple shoot at the Ambassador Mansion in Los Angeles, California.  I always love framing my subject with a frame inside of the shot, like through a window, a doorway, etc.  It always makes for a dynamic image.  The hard part with this shot was trying to communicate with Alvina through the window as she couldn't hear anything...so I had to show her through the window how I wanted her to pose...it was funny and very useful.  Hope you like it!

Bridals at the Altenburg Castle in Bamberg Germany

This was such an AWESOME shoot!  We started the shoot late at night and a really thick blanket of fog rolled in which gave the entire scene a very Tim Burton kind of look that I just loved.  I used two video lights because the flash would be too bright.  I used back and side lighting to get the effects that I wanted...and wait until you see the shots!  Thanks to Stephanie for such a great shoot!

Shot at the Altenburg Castle on November 27, 2012, production still for Jason Lanier Photography.

The Many Different Sides of a Bride

This sequence was shot in succession in the Bridal Room with my bride Alvina back earlier this month in Los Angeles, CA.  I egged her on a little bit and captured this sequence which I just loved.  Hope you like it!

Brides Just Wanna Have Fun!!

Just Having Fun!  This shot was taken earlier today of my bride Daryl who is getting married tomorrow at the Mosteller Mansion in Hickory, NC.  Sometimes the bridal shoots are so long that it helps to break it up with something really fun.  Daryl made this face, so I took the shot.  Hope you like it!
