Schwangau Fog, Meeting in the Middle by Jason Lanier

This image was taken during my excursion to Germany when I went to the shoot the Neushwanstein Castle.  Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate with you like you want it to, but when you get a layer of fog like this you make the best of it rather than sit in your hotel room.  I came across this row of trees and just loved how they were faint in the fog, but visible enough to where they can still be seen.  Just loved being there!

Neushwanstein Castle in Schwangau Germany by Jason Lanier

This image was taken in the beautiful little town of Schwangau Germany where the historic Neushwanstein Castle sits high in the mountains.  It is truly a picturesque place and has a very non-tourist feel for such a big tourist attraction. Maybe that's because I was there in the winter time, but regardless it's absolutely breathtaking.  The hardest part for me was waiting through the rain, because it seemed to never stop.  When the sun did break I only had about a 2 hour window to get everything that I could.  I hope you like it!

Schwangau Germany by Jason Lanier

This image was taken in the little town of Schwangau, Germany which is where the Neushwanstein Castle resides.  The fog and clouds were way too thick to capture the castle on this morning, so I found this little cabin and waited for the sun to shine through, illuminating the fog from above.  I only had a 30-second window to capture this image as the clouds closed up very quickly and this shot was gone....sometimes the best thing you can do as a photographer is sit and wait, and hope that Mother Nature cooperates with you...
