Flowergirl by Jason Lanier

This image was taken yesterday at my wedding for Delano and April before the wedding.  Our bride was getting her make up done, and I was setting up the room I captured this shot of the little flowergirl resting her head as she waited. This was shot with natural light coming in from the window and is completely unposed.  Hope you like it!

Next Workshop: Las Vegas, Nevada- right after WPPI

Camera settings: Nikon D700, 1/100 sec at f/2.2, 85mm at ISO 2500, flash did not fire.  Taken at 5:05pm on February 15, 2013 by Jason Lanier in Los Angeles, Calfornia.

Every Man Should Chase His Woman- Making a shot out of nothing!

This is one of my all-time favorite images.  This was actually taken on the side of a road in Victorville California in what ended up being an 8-minute shoot.  The Ceremony started very late and ate into virtually all of our time before the Reception.  I told the bride and groom to follow me in the car and I found a tiny dirt road across from a hospital.  We pulled over and I purposely had the car pointed to the side so I could shoot it with the cement road directly behind me.  I practiced this one time with the bride and groom and then told him to chase her around the car....and it worked!  What we really had to work on was the positioning of their hands/legs and feet, which can be done even while running.  Hope you like it!

Next Workshops:

  • Morgantown, WV- October 22-24
  • Myrtle Beach, SC- November 6-7
  • Tampa, Florida- November 13-14
