Sunrise at an old abandoned farm with a pond in Utah

As we are finalizing the pics for the new landscape website we are coming across some that I've never published before, like this one.  While combing through my old Lightroom Catalogs I found this shot, and after editing I decided it needed to go on the new website.  I shot this 5 years ago with my Nikon D2XS, and I am really happy I found it.  It was a very cold morning with the ground frozen as well as the edges of the pond.  I found this old house the night before and came back in the morning to capture it with the sunrise.  I froze but got some great shots.  Hope you like it!

Next Workshop: Tucson, Arizona...NEXT WEEK!

Camera settings: Nikon D2XS, 1/250 sec at f/13, 11mm at ISO 320, flash did not fire.  Taken at 7:12am on March 11, 2008 by Jason Lanier.

Bridezillas

Creativity- Don't ever be afraid to become a kid again when you are shooting. I think it's so funny that adults pretend that say they aren't creative. Creativity is a grown up word for "playing make believe." If more people stopped worrying about what other people thought about what they did, and just channeled their inner 5-year old and started "make believing" they would make amazing imagery. SO GO BE A 5-YEAR OLD AGAIN!!!!

Bridezillas- this image was taken during my workshop in West Virginia last month. We found this abandoned little house that was nestled in between overgrown weeds and a corn field. It was the kind of thing that's almost impossible to find in California which is one reason why I love shooting in areas like West Virginia. We had two models a house, and an idea….they were both in love with the same man and he was inside the house, all they had to do was fight and to the victor would go the spoils. Both girls took turns being the aggressor and I have a ton of great shots from this shoot. Camera settings: Nikon D700, 1/500 sec at f/5.6, 19mm at ISO 100. Shot at 3:23pm on October 11, 2011 by Jason Lanier.

So Beautiful- bridal shoot in an abandoned house

Check out the video of my shoot in the abandoned house in North Carolina!  The video contains the first walk through I did of the house when I discovered it, footage of me working with and shooting the bride, and 9 shots from the shoot that I love.  I hope you enjoy...this was one of my all time favorite shoots and I have to thank Christine again for making it possible.  Thanks Christine...you did great!
