Altenburg Castle
This image was taken at my shoot at the Altenburg Castle in Bamberg Germany last week. It was an amazing shoot that didn't even start until 9:45pm, and at this time of the year in Europe it gets dark around 4pm. On top of that it was raining and had a thick layer of fog that actually made the shoot just amazing. The castle is lit up at night by flood lights, and mixed with the fog it just lit up beautifully. I used my two video lights, one on the front and the other on the side to light the bride. It was extremely cold and wet, but it was worth it! It just goes to show you that even though it's dark, cold, and raining, you shouldn't give up....keep shooting!

Camera settings: Nikon D800, 1/40 sec at f/4.0, 16mm at ISO 5000, flash did not fire. Taken at 9:43pm on November 27, 2012 by Jason Lanier in Bamberg, Germany.
This was such an AWESOME shoot! We started the shoot late at night and a really thick blanket of fog rolled in which gave the entire scene a very Tim Burton kind of look that I just loved. I used two video lights because the flash would be too bright. I used back and side lighting to get the effects that I wanted...and wait until you see the shots! Thanks to Stephanie for such a great shoot!
Shot at the Altenburg Castle on November 27, 2012, production still for Jason Lanier Photography.
