Groom Getting Ready and Groom Portraits at a REAL Indian Wedding Workshop

Many times so much emphasis at a wedding is placed upon the Bride.  While the Bride is certainly an extremely important person, we of course can't forget the groom right?  This shoot comes from my REAL Indian Wedding Workshop in Cherryhill, New Jersey with Akshar and Arti Patel.  In case you haven't seen Part 1 which includes my images taken of the bride Arti, you can find a link to them by clicking below:

We went into the Groom's room and took the following shots that are included in the video as shown above.  It's important to capture the groom in a dignified and flattering manner which you can do by blending a style of photojournalism with light yet deliberate posing methods.  In other words, direct the shoot but don't overly pose the shoot.  Below are images taken of the Getting Ready portion:

After the getting ready portion we prepared for the First Look.  While waiting for the bride to arrive for the shoot I took a few minutes and did some groom portraits with Akshar as well.  All of these images were taken with lighting from the Rotolight Neo.  Below are the portraits of the groom taken at the ceremony site:

Palace of Gold Chandeliers by Jason Lanier Photography

This image of the inside of the Palace was taken a day before my REAL wedding workshop at the Palace of Gold in Moundsville, West Virginia.  I feel so honored that we were allowed to shoot a wedding here.  And it was a historic event at that.  This was the FIRST non-Krishna wedding to ever be shot there, and I'm so honored that I was chosen to be the photographer to shoot this historic event.  Thanks to everyone including the bride and groom, Janette and Ryan....

Bride with tattoos at the Christmas House Inn Wedding

www.jasonlanierweddingphotography.com

Some brides cover up their tattoos, others purposely buy dresses that show them off...:)  I just love how Kristin who was married just last week decided to showcase her ink.  I really love how in this shot you see the rose on her shoulder next to the huge bouquet of beautiful flowers.  And you can also see how she chose a low cut dress in the back to show off her tattoo there as well.  What a beautiful bride, awesome wedding, and amazing couple...

This image was taken at the wedding of Ishmael and Andrea at the Grand Tradition Arbor Terrace in Fallbrook, California.  This is truly a beautiful venue with so much to offer as they have two separate sites for weddings where you can get married with each one offering something very unique.  It's a beautiful way to start your marriage.  This image was taken looking through the falling water of the fountain at Arbor Terrace during their couple shoot before the reception.

Camera settings: Nikon D700, 1/80 sec at f/10, 28mm at ISO 1250, flash did not fire.  Taken at 4:30pm.

Father Giving Away the Bride at the Grand Tradition Estate Fallbrook

www.grandtraditionfallbrook.com

www.jasonlanierweddingphotography.com

Sometimes it's hard to capture this moment of a wedding if you are a single (solo) shooter at a wedding because as the bride is walking down the aisle you are capturing shots of her from behind.  In order to capture this shot you have to run around the sides of the chairs and get it before it's over because it can happen so quickly.

Well, that's what I did here for my shot of the Father giving away his daughter at her wedding at the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook.  They have bushes that border the side of the ceremony chairs, so I snuck around, zoomed in between the bushes, and grabbed this shot.  Hope you like it!

Camera settings: Nikon D3, 1/1000 sec at f/16, 65mm at ISO 1250, flash did not fire.  Taken at 4:01pm.

Bridal Room Grand Tradition Fallbrook Weddings

The Bridal Room at the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook is one of the best wedding venues around.  Most wedding venues have the bridal getting ready room off in some corner, well, not at Grand Tradition.  They took the time to beautifully adorn the room which makes for AMAZING images.  Taken at my wedding at the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook of Blake and Stephanie.

Camera settings: Nikon D3, 1/125 sec at f/9.0, 28mm at ISO 2500, flash fired.  Taken at 3:34pm.

I LOVE shooting through mirrors....just love it.  This image was taken at my wedding for Blake and Stephanie at the Grand Tradition in Fallbrook, CA in the Beverly Mansion.  Mirrors should be a photographer's best friend if used wisely because they can add such a unique look to the image and truly give it a different perspective compared to how we normally view the world....

This image was taken at my wedding for Mitch and Cassaundra at the Christmas House Inn and Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  Such a beautiful moment when the wedding couple clutches hands together during the ceremony.  It's the reason why I love shooting weddings....I just love being able to witness the love that people have for each other every time I shoot...

Camera settings: Nikon D700, 1/125 sec at f/5.6, 300mm at ISO 2000, flash did not fire.  Taken at 6:19pm.

Jason Lanier Wedding Photography Blog

www.jasonlanierweddingphotography.com

Hey Everybody!  I've started a blog made specifically for my wedding photography.  As I've built my brand into workshops, landscapes, and more, I've found the need to have some different platforms for displaying my work.  With this blog you can easily view images in categories which is great compared to trying to do that with Facebook.  Hope you like it!
