This image was taken at my workshop in Miami earlier this month. I placed my Nikon SB910 on the right and then using 2 Pocket Wizard TT5's with my Ray Flash I fired the flash against the model to cast her shadow on the wall to the left. Hope you like it!

People often comment on my photography and say that my shots are landscapes with people in them...and that's pretty true. Why? Because I started off shooting landscapes and learned the art of exposing for the elements and not the subject of the image. That's why my skies are so crisp, and everything is in proper exposure. It's not HDR.
This outstanding image taken by my workshop attendee Devon McManama exemplifies exactly what I teach at my workshops...making your shots dynamic the natural way, not through Photoshop tricks. This was at my Miami Workshop while we were out in the Everglades playing with the gators. Thanks Devon for such a great image!

This was such an AMAZING place to shoot! The Miami Marine Stadium is a historic and now abandoned structure in Key Biscayne that has held presidential campaign speeches all the way to concerts and major sporting events. It was hurt by Hurricane Andrew and hasn't opened up since. We went in there and had an amazing shoot...and then got chased out by the cops.
For this shot I used off camera flash triggered by my Pocket Wizards to add the needed fill light on the model. Just had a great time and it was great to find a place like this one. Thanks to everyone who came!

HAHA, we had such an amazing time at this place yesterday! We did the group shots and the group wanted me to create a fun pose of them taking my picture. I had the Lady Gaga song playing in my head the rest of the day...I just love my workshop attendees because they are such a blast. We had such a great time yesterday. This image was taken about 15 minutes before the cops came...lol
