Tips to Making the Award Winning Shot:
Be Creative- think of yourself as a director on a movie set. What story is your image conveying? Are your lighting choices playing a key role in telling that story? Use your lighting to tell that story.
Control Your Lighting- how are you controlling your lighting so that it does exactly what you want it to do? Are you making sure that there is no light spill or light leak onto areas of your canvas that you don’t want it to be? How are you modifying your light? Is your lighting harsh or is it diffused? Does your choice of either harsh or soft lighting match the mood and tone of your composition?
Use of Ambient Lighting- are you using your Rotolight system in conjunction with lights in the environment similar to how you would use them on a movie set? If you’re shooting at sunset you should see both the sunset in the image and your subject. If you’re using them on a street at night you should see ambient lighting from the street lights and cars for example as well as the illuminated subject.
